Privacy Policy

Shellkite is an SSH terminal and SFTP client for iPhone and iPad, developed by Emre Durukan. This policy explains what happens to your data when you use the app.

Summary

Shellkite does not collect personal data. There is no Shellkite account, advertising, analytics SDK, tracking or automatic diagnostic upload. Your servers, keys and settings stay on your device.

Network connections

SSH and SFTP connect only to the servers you select. Those servers receive your authentication, commands and transferred files as needed; how they store that data is decided by whoever runs the server. Shellkite does not route your connections through its own servers. Purchases and entitlement checks communicate with Apple.

Local storage and backups

Server profiles, key descriptions, snippets and preferences are stored on your device. Profiles and snippets may be included in your device backup. Shellkite does not provide cloud synchronization.

Passwords and private keys

Passwords you choose to save and saved private keys are kept in device-only Keychain storage and require Face ID, Touch ID or your device passcode on each use. They do not move to another device through backup. Connection-only passwords, key passphrases and authentication responses are not saved. Remembered server identities use a separate device-only Keychain store.

Terminal and clipboard

Terminal output stays in session memory. Copying and pasting require your action. Shellkite does not read your clipboard automatically, and a server cannot read or write your clipboard through terminal escape sequences.

Diagnostic reports

The app keeps a local diagnostic log with app and OS versions, device class, event times, random event IDs, durations and error categories. It excludes server addresses, usernames, fingerprints, file paths, terminal text, snippets and authentication responses. At most 200 events are kept for seven days. Nothing is sent automatically: you can preview the full report in Settings and decide whether to export it.

Files you export

Temporary transfer files use device data protection and are excluded from backup. Downloads, exported keys and diagnostic reports that you save in Files are under your control and may be synchronized by the file provider you choose.

In-app purchase

Shellkite Pro is sold through the App Store. Apple processes the payment; Shellkite receives no payment card or Apple Account details. See Apple’s Privacy Policy.

Deleting your data

Settings → Delete all local data closes connections and removes server profiles, snippets, saved passwords and keys, remembered server identities, preferences, diagnostics and temporary files. Files on your servers and copies you exported remain. Your Apple purchase stays available to restore.

Children

Shellkite is a tool for managing servers and is not directed to children. It does not collect personal data from anyone, including children.
